When Kritika connects with women across India through sign language and digital training sessions, the conversations are rarely about limitations. They are about possibility, independence and building something of one’s own.
Over the past few years, Kritika has quietly become a guiding force for a growing community of Deaf women exploring entrepreneurship and financial independence. What began as her personal search for opportunity has gradually turned into a support system for hundreds of women who had often struggled to find space in traditional workplaces.
Kritika grew up in Nagpur and spent much of her childhood navigating environments where communication was not always easy. Being Deaf meant that classrooms, discussions and everyday interactions often required extra effort and adjustment. Most teachers and classmates around her did not know sign language. To keep up with lessons, she depended on lip reading, written notes and visual cues. The experience could be isolating at times, but it also helped shape her resilience and determination.

At home, however, she always found encouragement. Her family supported her independence and constantly reminded her that her abilities were far greater than the barriers she might encounter. As an adult, when Kritika began looking for work, she realised that many of the challenges she had experienced earlier still existed in professional spaces. Communication gaps often made employers hesitant, even when the capability to work was very much there.
While exploring alternative ways to earn, she came across a women-led entrepreneurial network connected with the Oriflame ecosystem. The experience felt different from the beginning. Training sessions were designed to ensure that everyone could participate. Conversations slowed down when needed, captions and interpreters supported discussions, and leaders made conscious efforts to create a space where communication differences were understood rather than treated as obstacles.
For Kritika, that shift made all the difference. As she grew more confident in the network, she began supporting other Deaf women who were trying to understand the same training sessions and opportunities. Many had faced similar struggles while looking for work or financial independence.

Seeing someone from their own community navigate the journey helped them believe that it was possible for them too. Gradually, more women joined, conversations expanded and the community grew. Today, Kritika plays a key role in guiding and mentoring Deaf women across India who are exploring entrepreneurship and new ways of building income for themselves.
For many of these women, the opportunity represents something they had rarely experienced before: a chance to participate in an ecosystem where communication differences are acknowledged and accommodated.
Beyond her work within the network, Kritika has also built a space for expression and awareness online. Through her Instagram channel, she shares videos in sign language, creating content that connects with both Deaf and hearing audiences.

The responses she receives often remind her why representation matters. Many Deaf women say they feel understood when they see sign language used confidently in public spaces. Some young girls have shared that they show her videos to their families so they can learn sign language and communicate more easily at home.
Even hearing viewers frequently write to say the videos helped them understand sign language for the first time. For Kritika, these moments reflect a larger truth. Communication can take many forms, and each one deserves equal recognition.
Her journey today stands as a quiet but powerful example of what it truly means to be differently abled. It is not defined by what someone cannot do, but by how they create new ways to move forward. And through the community she continues to support, Kritika is ensuring that many more women from the Deaf community are able to step into opportunities with confidence and dignity.
